| Taking the SS 106 towards Catanzaro city, in about 35 minutes, you can visit the old town with a nice walk through a fairly simple pedestrian area starting from Piazza Indipendenza, passing through Piazza Matteotti, Corso Mazzini, Piazza Roma, ending up at Bellavista, just to admire the view. In this direction are located the main monuments, churches, museums, panoramic views such as: the Chiesa dell'Osservanza, the St. John Monumental Complex , the Church of the Immaculate, Cathedral, Church of the Mount of the Dead, Church of the Rosary, Nuovo Teatro Politeama, Villa Margherita, Provincial Museum, Diocesan Museum. In the northern area is the Biodiversity Park with the Historical Military Museum; to the north east in the Naturalistic Pine Forest Area of Siano is the Coach Museum. Going down to Catanzaro Lido where there is a beautiful promenade you may conclude the tour with a relaxing ice cream. | |
